Mercadona and Perfumes Almost Identical to Brands

Last week I had a friend visiting and we were discussing how many places now it is possible to buy perfumes or eau de toilette that are dupes or copies of the real high-end brands.

This isn’t law or tax, but whether you live here or come on holiday to the Alicante region of Spain, we all like a bargain. Perfumes seem to get more and more expensive, and in Summer sometimes it is fun to experiment a little and use different perfumes for mood or just for a change,  without being worried about the price.

In the Spanish supermarkets there are some very good perfume copies/clones that come very close to the originals. How they manage to do this we don’t know, but you may be interested to learn about this.

In fact, we have written a blog before about some of the genuine products they sell for a lot less than usual in Mercadona (such as Beauté Mediterranea Dragon’s Blood Cream (5€ in Mercadona for the original and 27.80€ on some sites online beaute mediterranea. )

However, this article is about the perfumes of Mercadona and which famous ones they are similar to (not exact copies). Mercadona seems to have got very good at coming close to some well-known scents. To the extent that when my friend smelt one of mine, she was able to say instantly that was like L’Eau De Issey Miyake, when it was a Mercadona perfume.

Here are a selection of some of Mercadona’s perfumes and famous ones that are similar :-

Ikiru and Issey Miyake, L’eau D’ Issey or Petits et Mamans of Bulgari
Eleccion (Choice) and La Vie ést Belle de Lancome
Rose Nude and Chloé of Chloé
Codizia and Angel by Thierry Mugler
Enciende For Her and CH by Carolina Herrera
Hortensia H Jardín Secreto Cyprum and Narciso Rodriguez for Her or some say Black Orchid of Tom Ford (which is definitely an expensive scent!)
Como Tú Fantasía and Nina of Nina Ricci
Como Tú Astucia and Euphoria of Calvin Klein
Melodía and DKNY by Donna Karan
Soplo and Petits et Mamans from Bulgari
Oud Noir and Oud Rosé from Armani
Las Monogotas de Manzana and Delicious of DKNY (Green apple)
Amour d’Anouk resembles Poison from Dior
Luz de Flora Rosa is like Lovely of Sarah Jessica Parker
And Único Musk is similar to White Musk of Body Shop (how old is that scent?!)

These bottles in Mercadona cost around 7€ to 12€ so you could almost try them all for the same price as a bottle of an original (perhaps that is not the idea of buying an inexpensive fragance though!). Some of them are similar packaging, others not. We have to say some have very odd names. Maybe they don’t last as long, but for the Summer, it is well worth a visit to Mercadona and experimenting with them. What fun! They have a very similar amount of scents for men too, the male versions.

Lastly, they also have the Adolfo Dominguez perfumes such as Agua Fresca de Rosas at about half price the originals.

Dear Michelle, I am afraid I think they only do online-shopping locally. Hopefully a friend may come over and can get some for you. Kind regards

Does the Mercadona still make Codizia perfume?

Hi Pat, We believe so. I think I saw it in there. Kind regards
