Important – Non Resident Tax

Posted and filed under Taxes in Spain.

A reminder for those who were never advised by their previous solicitors, and have not spoken to an accountant, that it is law that all non residents that have a property in Spain pay non resident income tax each year.

It is not expensive and nor is it too difficult to arrange with someone who knows how to submit this (they are individual returns for all owners of the property),

Even though you may not rent out your property or make any income from it, it is still an obligatory tax. The deadline for payment of this tax is 31st December 2019 for the year of 2018 (paid one year in arrears).

We deal with thousands of clients so it is helpful to us if payments can be done earlier, if possible, during the year, in order to present taxes in time.

If you do rent out your property there is also rental tax and your particular situation should be discussed with us, particularly if a tourism licence may be required.
