Fishing Licences (Valencia and Murcia)

Several people have mentioned that they love fishing (of course, it is such a popular sport) and the freshwater fishing is apparently fantastic in Spain.  We were going to detail how to obtain your licences (the Guardia Civil are rather hot here on this), but one of the main fishing clubs on the Costa Blanca has a fantastic page on this here http://carp-r-us.weebly.com/licences.html.  One thing we would mention is that although non residents do need a NIE number and Carp-R-Us suggest you can get that at the Embassy in your own country, we at Spanish Solutions can arrange this very simply here in one day. You just need to make an appointment with us and to have a passport photograph. Contact Amanda on enquiries@spanishsolutions.net for more details.

I have also been told Abbey Fishing Club is very good and the link to their website is here: http://abbeyangling.com/

One place we would suggest visiting is the lovely Pedrera Reservoir. There is free fishing with a local licence and you can catch bass, zander and pike. It is easy to access the lake and it is fairly flat so can be fished from the bank. You can access the lake from many points, an easy one being the road that goes from San Miguel de Salinas and Torremendo.

      Afternoon John,

      Thank you for your enquiry.

Your fishing permit will cover the whole of the Valencian Community, therefore you will be able to fish in Crevillente as it is within the Valencian Community. If you are fishing as a hobby, you will not need insurance. We hope this helps.

      Kind regards

I was under the impression that fishing in the reservoir’s in Spain was always free so long as you had the relevant regional licence ie Valencian licence , so why do you have to pay to fish the reservoir at Villa- Joyosa near Benidorm , I would love to know the reason why, thank you.

    • Nicola Ryan

Thank you for your enquiry Robert,

This would be best directed at the local town hall of Villa- Joyosa, we would not be able to answer this, we are sorry.

      Kind regards
